Our preschoolers had SO much fun picking pumpkins from our very own pumpkin patch and decorating them with their own creative touches! We love seeing our little Dragons explore, create, and make special memories together!
A HUGE thank-you to our Bakie Boosters for their generous donation of pumpkins and for helping make this fall activity so special for our youngest learners!

A big thank-you to Kingston Fire Rescue for visiting Bakie in celebration of Fire Safety Month! Our first graders loved getting an up-close look at the fire truck and emergency vehicle and learning more about the important work our local firefighters do to keep our community safe.
Unfortunately, the firefighters received an emergency call before our kindergarten students had their turn to visit. We are grateful that they plan to return on another day so our kindergarten Dragons can enjoy this special experience, too!

Indoor Recess at Bakie is a fun time, full of lots of building, imagination and working together. While the weather may keep the students from going outside, the social fun and creativity is still visible!
Mrs. Mac’s Grade 1 students were bursting with excitement as they put their learning into action by building 3D shapes with vertices, edges, and faces! They proudly created cubes and pyramids, showing off their growing understanding of these geometric shapes. So much hands-on learning and excitement in first grade!
NO bones about it! First graders have been learning about the body systems in their CKLA Knowledge Unit. The hallways are adorned with colorful posters highlighting each body system. Ask your first grader what they have learned about the systems and how they work together to keep us healthy!

In STEAM class the Kindergarteners are working so hard to build fences for their pumpkins to stand on. Once the students built a fence, they were challenged to keep adding pumpkins and adjust their structures to hold as many pumpkins as possible. Great work!
We are so proud of our Bakie Dragons! Today, our students practiced an off-site evacuation drill, safely and calmly evacuating campus to Swasey Gym.
They were safe, orderly, and incredibly quiet throughout the drill!
Safety drills are practiced throughout the year and include fire drills, lockdowns, holds, and shelter drills. These important practices help ensure our students and staff are prepared to respond calmly and safely in an emergency.
